This project offers a unique look at our design process. While not selected as the final direction, we wanted to develop a brand identity for Nolan & Vada that truly mirrored the high-end, one-of-a-kind gemstone engagement rings it brings to the market. In the same way that each of Nolan & Vada’s rings belong to only one couple, we chose a custom-edited typeface that would distinctly belong to the brand. The logo’s characters are raised up to become individual elements, paying homage to the many delicate components of a quality piece of jewellery. Furthermore, we used a classic monochrome aesthetic so as not to distract from the bright gemstone colours featured elsewhere in the company’s imagery.
